Bitcoin Debasement Trade Intact: What It Means for MSTR

In a report examining Bitcoin, Strategy Inc (MSTR) and the investment case for the debasement trade, the analysis argues that the four-decade era of falling interest rates has ended, leaving governments exposed to rising debt-servicing costs as sovereign borrowings reach record levels. Higher yields, it contends, create a self-reinforcing loop of larger interest bills, wider fiscal deficits and greater borrowing needs. Interventions to manage bond markets address symptoms rather than the underlying debt burden, and faced with a choice between fiscal stress and currency debasement, policymakers will ultimately opt for the latter as the politically less disruptive path. On that basis, the report argues investors stand to benefit from owning scarce assets such as Bitcoin that cannot easily be created or diluted.
