What Is the CANSLIM Research MCP Server?
A free, read-only Model Context Protocol server at canslim.blog/mcp. It gives AI assistants CANSLIM Research’s rule-based US market data (US markets only), metrics for over 1,000 US stocks and the latest Retail Investor Daily, updated once per US trading day.
What Is MCP?
Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants call outside tools. Add one URL and your assistant looks up CANSLIM Research data by itself.
Is It Investment Advice?
No. It is general, factual market data and published commentary, the same for everyone. It does not tell you to buy or sell and is not tailored to you.

FAQ
Questions People Ask
Is the CANSLIM Research MCP Server Free?
Yes. All tools are free, with or without a key. A free API key gives you your own usage limit; Pro (US$2 / month or US$20 / year) only raises the limit. Every plan gets the same data.
Which AI Assistants Work with It?
Any assistant or agent that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP: Claude, ChatGPT (developer mode on Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plans), Gemini Spark, Gemini CLI, Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, the OpenAI Agents SDK, Google ADK and others. Assistants without MCP can read canslim.blog/llms.txt instead.
Does It Cover Hong Kong or Other Markets?
No. The market data covers US-listed stocks and ETFs only. Hong Kong, mainland China and other markets are not included.
How Do I Use It with Gemini Spark?
In Gemini, open Settings → Connected Apps → Custom apps → Add a custom app, name it CANSLIM Research and paste https://canslim.blog/mcp?key= followed by your free key. Then copy a ready-made Cantonese task from the Gemini Spark guide: https://canslim.blog/mcp-spark/
Does It Work with Meta AI or Meta Muse?
Not yet. Meta’s apps do not currently let users connect an MCP server by URL, so asking Meta AI to “integrate” it only produces a mock-up, not a working connection. We will add instructions when Meta supports custom MCP servers.
Can My AI Read the Retail Investor Daily?
Yes. The daily_report tool returns the latest Retail Investor Daily title, date, public excerpt, key points and link, so your AI can summarise or translate it. Content for paid subscribers is not included.
Do I Need an API Key?
No, but a free key is recommended for Gemini Spark and agents on OpenAI, Anthropic or Google clouds, because many users there share one network address and would share the no-key limit.
Can I Sign in instead of Using a Key?
Yes, optionally. Add https://canslim.blog/mcp/auth as the connector URL instead. Claude (and other apps that support MCP sign-in) will show Connect and send you to a canslim.blog page to approve access; you get your free key’s limits, and Pro applies automatically. The plain URL keeps working with or without a key.
How Fresh Is the Data?
Market data is published once per US trading day at about 06:45 Hong Kong time, after the US close. Weekends and US holidays show the last session. Each answer states its data date.
Is This Investment Advice?
No. It is general, factual market data and published commentary, the same for everyone. It does not recommend buying or selling and is not tailored to you. Opinions your AI adds are its own.
What Can the Tools not Do?
They cannot trade, see your accounts or portfolio, or change anything. They do not publish raw price feeds, and only stocks on our scan list (over 1,000 US stocks) have snapshots.
Why Did My AI Say “Rate Limit Reached”?
You hit the per-minute or daily limit. Wait a minute, get a free API key for your own limit, or upgrade to Pro.
