UBS on China Semi Equipment: August SPE Imports Up 24% YoY — Naura and AMEC Top Picks

China’s semiconductor production equipment (SPE) imports reached US$3.3bn in August 2026, up 24% year on year, according to UBS, with demand broadening beyond Shanghai into Sichuan and other tier-2/3 provinces. UBS maintained its constructive stance on leading China wafer fab equipment (WFE) names, keeping Naura and AMEC as its top picks and raising its 2026–28E China WFE spend forecast to US$49bn/63bn/70bn.
