Who it is for
Built for traders who follow growth leaders
Swing and position traders
You buy strong stocks near proper buy points and want a daily shortlist instead of a blank screener.
CANSLIM and SEPA practitioners
You already follow O’Neil- or Minervini-style rules, and want them combined with the methods of other great traders — applied consistently across thousands of names.
Busy professionals
You cannot watch the market all day. The Radar keeps scanning and shows you what changed when you check in.
Why it exists
Manual screening is slow and inconsistent
Checking moving averages, volume and chart patterns across thousands of stocks takes hours — and fatigue, bias and fear of missing out creep into every decision.
CANSLIM Radar applies the same objective rules to every stock, every cycle. It also guards against the two most common momentum mistakes: stocks stretched too far above their 50-day moving average (measured in ATRs) are downgraded so you are not tempted to chase, and stocks trading below it are marked down so you are not buying weakness.
Consistent
The same rules, applied to every stock, every scan.
Explained
Every setup lists exactly which criteria it met.
Risk-aware
Pivot, stop zone, ATR% and market-cap checks come with every signal.
How it works
From thousands of stocks to a short list, automatically
Scan
Trader-style screens (VCP, trend template, breakout) build a universe of thousands of growth stocks.
Score
Each stock is scored on its moving-average stack, distance from the 52-week high, volume surge and candlestick patterns, then reviewed by AI against the rule library.
Guard
Over-extended and weakening stocks are marked down, and ATR%, market cap and price flag names that are too sleepy, too small or too wild.
Deliver
The dashboard updates as each stock is processed, with charts, pivots, stops and a sector summary.
Inside the dashboard
Everything you need to judge a setup at a glance
Actionable setups with charts
Chart thumbnails with a setup rating (Tight, Moderate or Loose), pivot and stop zone.
Watchlist
Stocks that qualify on trend but are not yet at a buy point, or have been marked down for extension or weakness.
Trader-criteria badges
See which trading styles a setup matches — for example O’Neil, Minervini, Zanger, Qullamaggie or Livermore.
Sector & theme summary
Spot group moves when several actionable names come from the same sector.
Sector Rotation Radar
Weekly MACD-histogram direction across 79 sector, theme, commodity and bond ETFs.
Risk chips
ATR% (3–8% momentum range), market cap (US$2–10B growth sweet spot) and low-price warnings.
The background
Built on methods traders have used for decades
CANSLIM Research is a Hong Kong–based research platform that turns the published methods of legendary growth and momentum traders into systematic, testable rules. CANSLIM Radar Beta is its live screening tool.
CANSLIM
William O’Neil’s growth-stock framework, popularised in How to Make Money in Stocks, focuses on leaders with strong earnings, new highs and institutional demand.
SEPA and the trend template
Mark Minervini’s approach requires a confirmed uptrend and tight, low-risk entry points such as the volatility contraction pattern (VCP).
Stage Analysis
Stan Weinstein’s method buys stocks entering Stage 2, when price moves above a rising 30-week moving average.
100+ trading books
Beyond these three, the Radar’s rule library draws on the techniques published by more than 100 trading authors, each translated into algorithms that detect stock setups.

CANSLIM Radar Beta is an automated stock setup detection system from CANSLIM Research. How often is the Radar updated?
The Radar scans continuously during US market hours (09:30–16:00 New York time) and keeps refreshing after the close. The dashboard updates automatically as each stock is processed, so you always see the latest completed results.
Which stocks does the Radar scan?
Each scan covers hundreds to thousands of US-listed growth stocks and ETFs, selected by trader-style screens — for example VCP, trend-template and breakout screens — rather than the entire market. The list is refreshed on every scan cycle.
How does the Radar decide a stock is ACTIONABLE?
Each stock is scored on objective price-and-volume rules: a bullish moving-average stack (MA20 above MA50 above MA200), proximity to the 52-week high, volume versus its 20-day average, and recognised candlestick patterns. Stocks stretched 3 or more ATRs above their 50-day moving average are downgraded from ACTIONABLE to WATCHLIST, and stocks trading below it lose points — so the Radar does not encourage chasing extended moves or buying weakness.
Does CANSLIM Radar use AI?
Yes. The Radar combines precise rule-based calculation with AI reasoning, in which large language models review each setup against the published methods of legendary traders. It can also run in a pure calculation mode; the mode in use is always shown on the dashboard.
What do ATR% and market cap tell me?
ATR% is the 14-day average true range divided by price. Momentum traders often look for roughly 3–8%, enough movement to trade without being erratic. Market cap indicates growth runway and liquidity: mid-caps of about US$2–10 billion are often considered a growth sweet spot, while micro-caps below about US$300 million can be illiquid and easier to manipulate.
